At Little Big People Early Learning, we believe that quality education should be accessible to every family. That’s why we’re here to help you understand how the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) and Queensland’s Free Kindy program can make early learning more affordable for your family.
What is the Child Care Subsidy (CCS)?
The Child Care Subsidy is a government payment that helps eligible families with the cost of early childhood education and care. It’s designed to reduce your out-of-pocket expenses, so your child can enjoy all the benefits of early learning—without the financial stress.
How much you receive depends on:
- Your combined family income
- The hours you and your partner work, study or volunteer
- The type of child care you use (we’re a CCS-approved centre)
The CCS is paid directly to us and passed on to you as a fee reduction. This means you only pay the gap fee, which is the difference between our daily fee and your subsidy amount.

Free Kindy in Queensland
As part of the Queensland Government’s commitment to giving children the best start in life, all eligible children can now attend a government-approved kindergarten program for free.
Here’s what that means for your family:
- If your child is at least 4 years old by June 30, they are eligible for Free Kindy the year before Prep.
- Our centre delivers a Government-Approved Kindergarten Program, led by a qualified Early Childhood Teacher.
- Your child can attend for 15 hours a week, 40 weeks a year, completely free of charge.
This program helps children build confidence, make friends, and develop the skills they’ll need for school and life. And best of all, it’s available right here at Little Big People Early Learning.
