And the best news? Kindy is now free* for eligible families in 2025.
What Is a QLD Government Approved Kindy Program?
A Queensland Government-approved kindy program:
- Runs for 15 hours a week, 40 weeks a year
- Is delivered by a qualified early childhood teacher
- Follows the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline
- Prepares children for a successful transition to Prep and beyond
At Little Big People Early Learning, our kindy program meets all government requirements and goes beyond. Led by a Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teacher, we combine the structure of a government-approved curriculum with the warmth and creativity of our centre’s unique approach to early education.
What Does Free Kindy Mean for You?
From 2024 onwards, the Queensland Government has made kindergarten free for families with eligible children. This means your child can attend an approved kindy program at no cost, helping to ease the financial pressure and ensure every child has access to high-quality early learning.
You may be eligible for free kindy if:
You choose a centre offering an approved kindy program — like us!
Your child is turning 4 by 30 June in the year they attend kindy.
